Our Story
At Legal DREAMS, our mission is to turn dreams into reality by opening doors of opportunity for Black pre-law scholars. We believe that the dream of seeing more Black lawyers in the legal field is a necessity, one that benefits the entire profession and society. Despite their potential, many talented and driven individuals face barriers that hinder their path to law school. It is our mission to ensure that these scholars have the mentorship, financial assistance, and resources they need to thrive in law school and beyond. When these dreams are supported, the entire legal profession becomes stronger, more diverse, and more capable of carrying out the vital work that shapes our society.
Legal Dreams was founded at Harvard to confront a simple truth: the legal profession does not yet reflect the communities it serves. We started with a small circle of mentors and scholars and are growing into a community committed to opening doors — providing the resources, relationships, and reassurance our scholars need to thrive.
