Eligibility
- Currently a pre-law student or recent graduate preparing for law school
- Demonstrated commitment to pursuing the legal profession
- Able to submit GPA information, written essays, and required materials by the deadline
- Available for a 25–30 minute interview if selected
Selection Timeline
Approximately 4 weeks total. The process consists of four phases. Each phase is intentional — silence during review periods is normal and should not be interpreted as a signal of outcome.

Application Period
Duration: 10–14 days
Submit GPA information, required written essays, and any additional materials listed in the application instructions. Applicants are expected to manage deadlines independently.

Application Review
Duration: 7–10 days
All applications are reviewed using a standardized rubric. Applicants will not receive updates during this phase.

- Identify candidates who advance to interviews

Interviews
Duration: 5–7 days
Selected applicants are invited to a 25–30 minute interview conducted by current law students participating as mentors.

Final Decisions
Duration: 3–5 days
Final decisions are communicated directly to all interviewed applicants. Selected mentees receive confirmation of acceptance, program expectations, and information about the probationary period. Due to volume, individual feedback may be limited.
Essay Prompts
Essay 1
600–800 wordsDescribe a time you had to make a decision without all the information you needed, and where reasonable people might have made a different choice. What did you prioritize, and why? Looking back, what would you keep the same about how you decided, and what would you do differently?
Essay 2
no more than 300 wordsWhat is one thing you're currently unsure about — regarding law school, the LSAT, or your path into the legal profession — that you'd want a mentor's help with?
Essays are evaluated primarily on clarity of reasoning, self-awareness, and specificity. We are not looking for a "perfect" decision or a dramatic story — we want to understand how you think. Essay 1 responses that focus only on the outcome, rather than the reasoning behind it, will score lower than responses that clearly walk through the trade-offs considered. Essay 2 responses should be specific and honest; there is no wrong answer, and naming a real uncertainty is more useful to us than projecting confidence you don't yet have.
